About Kids&Art


We serve pediatric patients and their families nationwide through all stages of cancer treatment. Participants come from diverse backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, races, cultures, religions, and gender identities. Cancer doesn't discriminate. Our community is greatly immunocompromised, vulnerable, and isolated, and their lives center around appointments, treatments, and recovery.


Kids & Art provides free supportive, hands-on arts experiences designed to bring a creative boost of positivity, normalcy, and joy to children with cancer and their families. Our programs, developed by professional artists, focus on giving agency and control in the moment, community building, connection, and helping our families feel less isolated, anxious, and fearful.   Our programs are supported by grants, fundraisers, and donations.

Since our inception, the concept that “Art Heals” has directed the intentionality of Kids & Art programs and is evidenced in our work with children and families facing cancer. It has inspired our vision and advocacy for participation in the creative arts to be fully integrated into healthcare treatment plans.  We deeply understand how participation in the arts can literally change our brains to create a sense of joy and peace.

We have a saying at Kids & Art - Amaeyzing!  Kids & Art Foundation is the legacy of our founder’s son, Amaey. He was always called Amazing Amaey by his friends, and that is how we coined the term “Amaeyzing" for many of the Kids & Art Programs. Amaeyzing ArtKits are a cornerstone of Kids & Art Foundation.
